14 Jewish Baby Names for Autumn

baby

Now that it’s almost officially fall (technically it’s still summer until September 21),I began to think about Jewish baby names that correspond to the fall season–which is one of endings and new beginnings. If you’re expecting your bundle of joy around the fall, consider one of these beautiful names–or just finding inspiration (which you can find more of atour name bank).

Here are some of my favorites below:

1. Chava.Chavais a girl’s name in Hebrew that means “living.” It is the Hebrew version of Eve, the first woman God created–which also illustrates new beginnings.

2. Chayim.Chayimis the male version in Hebrew of the name Chava, which means “life.”

3. Ava.Avais a girl’s name in Hebrew that means “life.”

6. Ilan.Ilanis a boy’s name in Hebrew that means “tree.” While it is a name also typically given onTu Bishvat, trees are also such a huge part of fall, considering the leaves change color and are splendid to look at.

7. Lila.Lilais a girl’s name in Hebrew that means “night.” Considering that daylight hours become gradually shorter in the fall as we go into winter, it’s very appropriate.

8. Ilana.Ilanais a common Hebrew name for girls, meaning “tree.”

9. Erez.Erezis a Hebrew boy’s name that means “cedar.”

10. Oren.Orenis a Hebrew boy’s name that means “pine tree.”

11. Alon.Alonis a Hebrew boy’s name that means “tree.”

12. Alona.Alonais a Hebrew girl’s name that means “tree.”

13. Shani.Shaniis a Hebrew girl’s name that means “red,” which can be after the shade of red that the leaves change to this season.

14. Tomer.Tomeris a Hebrew boy’s name that means “palm tree.”
